How is the GreenPro certification administered?
GreenPro is managed by the Foundation for Professional Pest Management. Through the foundation, an independent advisory board has been selected to oversee all functions of the program. Their task is to continually evaluate and improve the program’s standards, materials and resources. This group is comprised of environmental experts, representatives from non-governmental organizations, representatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and representatives from GreenPro certified companies.

How is the GreenPro certification unique from other designations that pest control companies can earn?
GreenPro is the most widely recognized certification available to companies in the pest management industry.

• It has the most comprehensive standards of any available program.
• Requires companies that participate to submit to independent audits.
• Service technicians, salespersons and managers must be trained, tested and recertified.

In addition to green pest management service standards, participating companies are also evaluated on business operations, such as criminal background checks, reference checks, drug screening and more, prior to being able to participate in GreenPro.

How are companies audited to guarantee compliance with program standards?
In an effort to require strict compliance with program standards, companies must submit to multiple audits once enrolled in the program. All GreenPro companies are audited in relation to business operations, once within the first year of becoming GreenPro certified and on-site at least once every five years. To ensure credibility, GreenPro has retained a national third-party audit firm that conducts the on-site evaluations and reports back to the independent advisory committee on a regular basis.
